Gamida Cell is a leader in advanced cellular therapies and hematopoietic stem cell transplants, with two FDA approved therapies, Omisirge® (omidubicel-onlv) and APHEXDA® (motixafortide). Omisirge® is the first and only FDA approved cell therapy for allogeneic stem cell transplant.  APHEXDA® is a stem cell mobilization agent indicated for autologous transplantation for patients with multiple myeloma.

General Scope and Summary

The Senior Director, Marketing is a senior commercial leader responsible for developing and executing integrated U.S. marketing strategies that drive product adoption, customer engagement, commercial growth, and long-term portfolio value. This individual will lead strategic planning and execution across marketed products and future growth opportunities while partnering closely with Sales, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Commercial Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Business Analytics, and Executive Leadership.

The role is responsible for shaping brand strategy, lifecycle management, omnichannel engagement, customer experience, launch excellence, and portfolio optimization. As a member of the Commercial Leadership Team, the Senior Director will influence enterprise-level decisions, guide cross-functional initiatives, and ensure alignment of commercial priorities with organizational goals.

This position requires an experienced biotechnology marketing leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can navigate ambiguity, and possesses a strong balance of strategic leadership and operational execution. The role offers significant visibility with executive leadership and key external stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Participate as a senior member of the US Commercial team and contribute novel ideas and approaches to help build cutting-edge commercial programs and inform enterprise-level strategic planning.
  • Lead development and execution of integrated strategic marketing plans for marketed products and future commercial opportunities.
  • Own the brand vision, value proposition, positioning, branding elements, marketing messages and strategy.
  • Develop and execute long-term brand strategies, lifecycle management plans, and portfolio optimization initiatives.
  • Serve as an expert in disease state, treatment landscape, customer needs, and market dynamics across hematology, oncology, cell therapy, and transplantation markets.
  • Translate customer insights, market intelligence, competitive dynamics, and business analytics into commercial strategies that drive growth and market leadership.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the US healthcare environment and reimbursement issues related to buy-and-bill therapies, analyze qualitative and quantitative market data to generate a deeper understanding of the unmet needs, to define brand and market potential.
  • Lead omnichannel customer engagement strategies across healthcare professionals, transplant centers, patients, caregivers, and account stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute optimal promotional and omnichannel plans, and other activities to compliantly communicate brand and disease messages within organizational, regulatory, medical, legal, and ethical boundaries.
  • Drive launch readiness planning and commercialization activities for new products, indications, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Build strong brand differentiation rooted in customer insights, market access realities, and key adoption drivers.
  • Lead relationships with agencies of record, consultants, market research partners, advocacy organizations, and other external vendors.
  • Ensure development and implementation of high-quality promotional materials and educational resources for healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Collaborate with field leadership to support execution excellence, message pull-through, and customer engagement effectiveness.
  • Lead cross-functional brand planning processes, strategic business reviews, and long-range commercial planning initiatives in close collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Gamida Cell Assist, and Advocacy Teams.
  • Own marketing budget management, resource allocation, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and measurement frameworks to evaluate marketing effectiveness, customer engagement, and return on investment.
  • Monitor business performance and recommend strategic adjustments to accelerate growth and optimize resource utilization.
  • Present strategic recommendations, business performance updates, and commercial insights to Executive Leadership.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop marketing team members while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, medical congresses, advisory boards, customer meetings, and professional forums.
  • Support strategic partnerships, patient advocacy engagement, and corporate initiatives that advance organizational objectives.
  • Travel as required. Occasional evening and weekend travel for congresses, advisory boards, planning meetings, and customer engagements.

Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare, or a related discipline.
  • MBA, PharmD, MS, MPH, or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 12+ years of progressive pharmaceutical or biotechnology commercial experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of strategic marketing leadership experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated success launching and commercializing specialty pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or cell therapy products in the United States.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. healthcare markets, reimbursement environments, and customer decision-making processes.
  • Experience in hematology, oncology, cell therapy, transplantation, rare disease, and/or buy-and-bill therapeutic markets strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.
  • Experience managing multi-million-dollar marketing budgets and agency partnerships.
  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to develop and execute long-term commercial strategies.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of pharmaceutical and biotechnology market dynamics.
  • Customer-centric leader with deep expertise in customer engagement and experience optimization.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and executive influencing capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity and organizational complexity.
  • Proven cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.

Travel: 25-40%

Base Salary Range: Gamida Cell considers a range of factors when determining base compensation and therefore the final compensation will vary depending on experience level.
