General Scope and Summary

  • The Director / Senior Director, Global Commercial Analytics & New Product Planning leads the function that provides strategic forecasting, market research, commercial analytics and new product planning for Gamida Cell. This is a critical role in ensuring that Gamida Cell Commercial Organization achieves its vision of becoming an Insights driven organization where transparency on information is created and which leverages actionable market/customer insights and intelligence to drive strategic business and marketing decisions in a systematic yet agile way
  • As a leader, the individual in this role will be accountable for further developing and building capabilities necessary to synthesize meaningful, actionable insights by integrating a variety of primary and secondary data sources and creating a performance-based culture that empowers and enables team members to efficiently deliver their best.
  • Develop and implement primary market research for qualitative exploration and quantitative assessment of markets, products, and companies across multiple customers (patients, payers and physicians as needed)
  • Lead insight driven forecast assumptions discussions that are future looking, market and competitive intelligence-driven, and flexible enough to meet the needs of evolving portfolio priorities
  • Drive strategic decision-making by developing and evaluating multiple forecast scenarios (as appropriate)
  • Develop and oversee all market research plans, forecasting and forecast models until transition to regions up to and including disease understanding, market size/growth, patient segments, epidemiology, patient journey and flow, current and future competition and unmet needs
  • Drive secondary reporting and analysis, forecasting and market research for all products in Gamida portfolio
  • Lead new product planning efforts across the portfolio, including providing an early and objective view of the unmet needs, target profile, market potential, competitive landscape and commercial risks associated with pipeline assets in early development phases, and coordinate pre-commercialization (ie. INN development, internal branding) activities for these pipeline assets prior to handing them off to late stage commercial teams.
  • Partner with Business Development in evaluation of licensing and acquisition opportunities, including synthesizing and developing robust business cases and present commercial assessment findings and recommendations to senior management to inform go/no-go decisions and leading market assessments for external opportunity evaluations and commercial due diligence (BD/M&A)
  • Collaborates with all key functions including marketing, medical affairs, pricing & market access, clinical development, marketing strategy, finance, business development and commercial regions – US, EU and other relevant regions.
  • Develops and administers budgets, resource plans and performance objectives for his/her team and area, up to 1-2 team members.

Education and or Work Experience Requirements

  • 8+ years progressive experience in Biotech/Pharma.
  • BS and Advanced Degree Desired, MBA, PhD, MS in scientific field/analytical field.
  • Market research, forecasting, commercial analytics, sales analytics experience in a biopharmaceutical company in US, EU, and other relevant regions.
  • Has worked in a global role and/or worked Ex-US.
  • Experience in multiple new product launches/new therapeutic area entry.
  • Experience in multiple product settings developing overall value proposition and strategies for a global product launch.
  • Experience in supporting early stage programs through insights, analytics and/or new product planning.
