Gamida Cell is a leader in advanced cellular therapies and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, with two FDA approved therapies, Omisirge® (omidubicel-onlv) and APHEXDA® (motixafortide). Omisirge® is a nicotinamide (NAM) modified allogeneic hematopoietic progenitor cell therapy that is potentially curative for patients with hematologic malignancies. APHEXDA® is a CXCR4 antagonist with long receptor occupancy indicated in combination with filgrastim to mobilize hematopoietic stem cells to the peripheral blood for collection and subsequent autologous transplantation in patients with multiple myeloma.

General Scope and Summary

Serve as the voice of Gamida Cell in front of key stakeholders, including key patient advocacy organizations, government organizations, as well as important professional organizations with a view towards ensuring Gamida’s perspectives are included in the advancement of policy.  This post will also be part of ensuring the patient voice in internal strategies and tactics to support decision making, putting patients first.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Advocacy Strategy & Engagement
• • • Identify, map, and prioritize professional and patient advocacy organizations relevant to Gamida’s business interests, specifically in hematological transplant and cell therapy
    • Build and maintain strategic partnerships to advance patient access and education initiatives and monitor and guide policy initiatives to support Gamida’s business interests.
    • Represent the company in advocacy forums, coalitions, and policy discussions.
  • Policy & Access Support
    • Monitor healthcare policy trends impacting patient access to cell therapy and develop key strategies for senior leadership to action and represent Gamida-Cell as required in external engagement
    • Provide insights to executive leadership on advocacy-driven opportunities and risks
    • Develop and execute influence strategies across stakeholder organizations that share similar perspectives on critical issues and key risks
  • Patient-Centric Program Development
    • Work with key patients and patient organizations to develop annual strategies and plans as required.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services) to integrate patient perspectives into program design.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration.
    • Work closely with Market Access, Marketing, Case Managers and Patient Services teams to ensure seamless patient support throughout the therapy journey.
    • Partner with Medical and Marketing to amplify patient stories and advocacy initiatives.

Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Public Health, Social Work, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years in patient advocacy, government affairs, or patient services within biotech/pharma, ideally in transplant or cell therapy.
• Strong understanding of healthcare policy, reimbursement, and patient access challenges.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to travel up to 35%.
• Existing relationships across the government, patient advocacy and cell/gene therapy organizations.
• Experience engaging with professional, advocacy and key policy organizations.
• Knowledge of hematopoietic stem cell transplant and cell therapy landscape.
• Strategic thinking with a deep understanding of business combined with a passion for improving patient outcomes.

Travel: Up to 35%

Reports to: Chief Commercial Officer and Head of the US Business

Base Salary Range: Gamida Cell considers a range of factors when determining base compensation and therefore the final compensation will vary depending on experience level.
