Penny Bushell joined Gamida Cell as Chief Human Resource Officer in November 2022. Penny has over 25 years of leadership experience in entrepreneurial environments, managing exponential growth and leading people and process integration of portfolio companies in larger asset management firms. Her experience includes leading strategic global projects in operations and human resources. She has spent the majority of her career working in asset management companies – in hedge funds such as Winton Capital and Spruce Investments, in private equity with The Carlyle Group and AlpInvest, and in investment banking firm Miller Buckfire & Co. She transitioned her commercial, creative problem-solving skills to supporting the operations infrastructure of executive search firm Sheffield Haworth Inc., before turning her career focus to human resource management and working with Gamida Cell to support the commercial launch of Omisirge. Penny’s expertise in each of these roles is her ability to manage and execute projects across a variety of disciplines simultaneously and delivering improved operations and human resource processes in support of strategic business goals.
Penny received a B.S. in Communications from State University of New York at Oneonta, and an A.A.S. in Legal Administration from Herkimer College.
