Gamida Cell is a leader in advanced cellular therapies and hematopoietic stem cell transplants, with two FDA approved therapies, Omisirge® (omidubicel-onlv) and APHEXDA® (motixafortide). Omisirge® is the first and only FDA approved cell therapy for allogeneic stem cell transplant.  APHEXDA® is a stem cell mobilization agent indicated for autologous transplantation for patients with multiple myeloma.

General Scope and Summary

The Head of National and Regional Accounts will lead strategic engagement and account management across transplant centers nationwide and lead a small team of regional account Directors. This role is pivotal in onboarding targeted centers, driving adoption, optimizing patient access, and ensuring a seamless experience for transplant centers with Gamida Cell. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in stem cell transplantation/cellular therapy and a history of commercial strategy and execution from center onboarding to driving commercial demand and leading a team of both direct reports and cross-functional partners to deliver exceptional customer and patient services.  This is a player-coach role that requires strategic business and therapeutic area acumen as well as strong inspirational leadership.

This role reports to the US President.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Account Management:
    • Serve as the primary senior contact for a few key targeted transplant centers
    • Build and maintain high-level relationships with transplant physicians, administrators, and decision-makers in these key accounts
    • Lead a small team of direct reports to drive results at targeted regional transplant centers
    • Develop and execute against strategic account plans that include both Omisirge and APHEXDA

     

  • Operational Excellence:
    • Oversee onboarding, training, and support for transplant centers to ensure readiness for Omisirge® administration in new indications.
    • Monitor performance metrics and ensure alignment with brand strategy and patient access goals.
    • Oversee onboarding and day-to-day training for team of Regional Account Directors.
    • Provide regular coaching on performance (reach, frequency, sales, account planning and execution) to team of Regional Account Directors.

     

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Partner with internal stakeholders to align account strategy and tactical execution.
    • Facilitate feedback loops between field teams and corporate functions to enhance service delivery.

     

  • Market Intelligence:
    • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer insights to inform strategic decisions.
    • Identify growth opportunities and barriers to access and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Market Access / Reimbursement:
    • Provide education around product access and reimbursement
    • Negotiate Trade Agreements with Treatment Centers, as needed

    Stay current on payer policies

Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills

  • 10+ years industry experience with 5-7 years of Hematology biotech/pharmaceutical sales leadership/equivalent experience: launch experience and knowledge of stem cell transplant, cell and gene therapy required
  • BA/BS required: Advanced degree in Business, Marketing, or Life Sciences preferred
  • Proven success in launching and managing cell therapy products.
  • Strong understanding of transplant center operations and regulatory requirements.
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Able to lead with and without authority
  • Able to rapidly identify issues and effectively implement solutions
  • Adept at presenting to senior leadership on strategy and KPI’s in the region
  • Capable of demonstrating flexibility, problem-solving and change management
  • Committed to making a positive contribution to the company and establish trust and credibility with team members
  • Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to build alignment around goals and objectives
  • Achieves organizational focus while valuing diverse and opposing views among multi-cultural teams
  • Ability to analyze sales and other relevant market data to formulate strategic plans and execute plans for success.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Travel: 40-60%

Reports to: US President

Base Salary Range: Gamida Cell considers a range of factors when determining base compensation and therefore the final compensation will vary depending on experience level.
